Application
The application of this unit in the workplace - the environments, complexities and situations involved - will be written during Phase II of the Review of the PUA00 Public Safety Training Package. This text will be useful for the purposes of job descriptions, recruitment advice or job analysis; where possible, it will not be too job specific to allow other industries to import it into other Training Packages, where feasible. | |

ammunition: type colour hazard band labelling marking slot/batch numbers packaging nomenclature factors affecting local defence laws of armed conflict principles of camouflage safety precautions associated with the task |
Evidence Required
Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit | Assessment must confirm the ability to effectively lead an indirect fire weapon operating crew; to apply appropriate OH&S requirements and recognised safety precautions; to test sights; to carry out non technical inspections; and to understand the limit of own authority. Consistency in performance Competency should be demonstrated over a period of time in different operational or simulated operational environments. |
Context of and specific resources for assessment | Context of assessment Competency should be assessed in a simulated operational environment due to the high cost of ammunition. The simulation should replicate the live environment where stress and fatigue are key features. Specific resources for assessment Access to a live fire range, competent indirect fire weapon crew, the indirect fire weapon, and live ammunition. |
Guidance information for assessment | Information that will assist or guide assessment will be written during Phase II of the Review of the PUA00 Public Safety Training Package. |
